Course Overview
Bad Moon Shooting is an affiliate of California Online CCW. If you are a resident of Nevada, Sacramento, Yolo, or Yuba county, you may complete the classroom portion of your CCW training entirely online. Once you enroll, you have 90 days to complete the online course. At the end of the online course, you arrange to meet one of our instructors for your range qualification on the pistol(s) to be listed on your permit.
The online Initial course takes at least 16 hours, and the Renewal course takes at least 8 hours, not including your range qualification. If your county requires you to complete the first stage of the CCW process before online training (for example, Sacramento), you must complete that phase 1 before enrolling in the online course.
If you enroll in the Renewal course but should have taken the Initial course, an 8 hour Make Up Course is available to turn your renewal course certificate into an Initial Course certificate.
Non-residents who meet California's eligibility requirements for a Non-Resident CCW, and will be visiting one of our counties, may also take the Initial online course toward their permit, in addition to completing the required range qualification.
